Andrew Tate has declared his support for Greta Thunberg’s aid ship currently sailing to Gaza. The manosphere influencer posted on social media: “I support Greta Thunberg. Shes given up the climate scam and is attacking a REAL issue. Respect the pivot.”

Tate’s comments refer to the young Swedish environmentalist’s ship carrying a “symbolic” amount of aid to Gaza in protest of Israel’s blockade. The ship, called the Madleen, set sail from Sicily on Sunday and is operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. The FFC has described the voyage as “a non-violent, direct action to challenge Israel’s illegal siege and escalating war crimes”.

Before setting sail, Thunberg said: “We are doing this because no matter what odds we are against, we have to keep trying, because the moment we stop trying is when we lose our humanity.”

Tate and Thunberg’s last public interaction came in late 2023 when the kickboxer bragged about his car collection. Tweeting at the climate activist, Tate wrote: “Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.” Thunberg replied: “yes, please do enlighten me. email me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com.”

Last week the Crown Prosecution Service released the full list of criminal charges against Tate and his brother Tristan, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking. The brothers are currently in Romania facing charges of rape and human trafficking and the country confirmed they will only be extradited once proceedings have finished.

Tate, who converted to Islam in October 2023, has become a major critic of Israel since 7 October attacks. He has claimed that Israel is “genociding the Palestinians” and that former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar who was killed by the IDF was “defiant in the face of evil” and his death was “heroic”. Tate has also refused to condemn Hamas, stating: “No, I’m not going to condemn the masculine spirit of resistance.”

The latest figures from the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza claim that 54,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in the war to date. This week, the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) told the BBC that Gaza was “worse” than hell on Earth while UK Foreign Minister Hamish Falconer strongly criticised the Israeli government. He said: “We are appalled by repeated reports of mass casualty incidents in which Palestinians have been killed when trying to access aid sites in Gaza.”
