Description

In this exclusive UnHerd interview, Steve Bannon, former Trump Chief Strategist, host of The War Room, and Elon Musk’s strongest critic, dissects the dramatic rift between President Donald Trump and Musk, sparked by disputes over Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”—a tax-cut and spending package Musk slammed as a “disgusting abomination” for inflating the $36.2 trillion national debt.

Bannon brands Musk an “illegal alien”, possibly an agent of the CCP, and calls for his deportation and on Trump to seize SpaceX under the Defense Production Act, while defending Trump’s America First agenda against Musk’s fiscal critiques.

With Tesla’s stock dropping ~14% and Musk backpedaling on threats to decommission the Dragon spacecraft, the conversation probes whether this public feud signals the end of the Trump-Musk alliance, a potential MAGA “civil war,” and risks America’s space and economic future.

  1. Who do you believe, Trump, Mosk or Bannon? None of them or all of them to one degree or another?
We’re caught in a modern day Roshanon. A reminder of the classic Japanese film:
“The Rashomon effect describes how parties describe an event in a different and contradictory manner, which reflects their subjective interpretation and self-interested advocacy, rather than an objective truth.”

  2. Animal Farm, haha… the Pigs Squealer, Snowball, and Napoleon.

Bannon is such a hybrid, but I think I go with Snowball at first, Napoleon later – the one who writes the idealist Rules of animal Farm, and then Napoleon has them changed at night, Squealer doing the actual changes with a paintbrush in the dark.

”””No animal shall drink alcohol” is changed to “No animal shall drink alcohol to excess“, “No animal shall sleep in a bed” has been changed to “No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets“, and “No animal shall kill another animal” is changed to “No animal shall kill another animal without cause“. Later all the commandments are replaced with one phrase: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others“.

And so the rules do change. End war in 24 hours? well… Deport 12 Million? well…. Peace in the Middle East, well….. Protect the Constitution and right to privacy, well…. Make the Economy Great, well…. Balance the budget – haha, Build the military, well… Stop the Houthies, well…, Peace with Iran, well….. Rein in the Security Services, well…. Shut down the Deep State, well….All of them…..

Trump? Well he had that Squealer ability of swishing back and forth as he spoke to the animals which hypnotized them almost, and got them all agreeing – and had the Snowball idealism at first, and later, seemingly, the cynical Napoleon big Boss. He is the one who banishes Snowball and takes absolute power, and is there at the end:

”””The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.””’ ― George Orwell,  (meet the new boss, same as the old boss)

Musk? Cannot fit him really – maybe the great workhorse sent to the glue factory when he has lost his strength – but likely not, something shifty about him, hard to say what, but tarred with the Billionaire Tech Bro darkness where you know they work to a totally different set of Morals and Ethics to us. Some scary dark force floats over them, something vast we do not understand.

Steve Bannon? He talks and says stuff – but I do not know what he is up to.

I just do not see any Good Guys in Politics anymore – there are some, but the greasy pole they have to climb to the top? They are very dirty when they get there it seems. This interview – one does not feel better after listening to it…..

    1. “Trump?…and had the Snowball idealism at first”
I like your Animal Farm comparison but I would disagree with the notion that Trump has any idealism. I’ve watched him for many years now. His only ideals are about what helps Donald Trump *WIN* in his mind and in any given moment.

    1. I watched Bannon’s War Room on Rumble for years – he really is a weirdo, and I trust him as far as can throw him. Not a nice guy – and impossible to know what he really is – but he is drawn to the corridors of power, and can exist in that world. I think he is a lizard maybe.

He has a true use though – he is in opposition to the wicked, woke, postmodernist, corrupt, Democrats and Liberal Left. And I appreciate that.

None of them are what they say.
